I finally had a chance to do a new photo shoot after over a year. I hadn’t done a shoot since April 2024, when I went to Portland and did a couple of great photo shoots with some fantastic models. Going so long without shooting does take it’s toll, both on me and my gear.
I did the photo shoot last night with my wife, and it certainly was not what I was expecting. First off, there were equipment issues, my camera was showing a full battery when I turned it on, but before long, the battery was almost empty. I tested the flash trigger, which worked just fine… until I tried to take a picture, so some more time fiddling with the transmitter and receiver to get it to set off the flash.
As stated earlier, it’s been over a year since I’ve done a photo shoot, but it’s been even longer since my wife modeled. We were both a little rusty, but it took a little more instruction than usual to get her out of her standard set of poses.
Overall, though, I’m happy with what I got. It’s good to be shooting again, and I did get some good photos last night. I’m looking forward to getting back into photography and working more with my wife and other models.
